THE PLOT:
In the prequel to the first movie we learn the fate of the last family who decided to take the great deal that is the Amityville
Horror. That unfortunate family was the Montelli family.
The eldest son Sonny gets processed by the forces of evil that dwell with the nightmare house and sets a plan in motion
to kill them all.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
Now I am not the biggest fan of the first Amityville Horror movie, even though it was based on a true story I felt it dragged
on. But this prequel really drags on and the Sonny character must have had pudding for brains to allow himself to be used
like that. He must have had issues to begin with not to fight the evil impulses and to commit the crime without even flinching.
But since they did mention this in the first movie I guess it had to happen and the events had to transpire the way they did.
But the crime is only the beginning as they try to save Sonny's soul from damnation. Which means another forty or so minutes.
I guess it could have been better but I can tell you it could have been allot better as well. SO my verdict on the second
Amityville movie is 7 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I feel the same as I did about the first movie, no better and no worse. But my complaint is I don't recall anyone anywhere
during the course of the movie saying this was a prequel. Not in the trailer and not in the typeset. I had to read it was
a prequel in the IMDB before I learned that. So that kind of ticked me off. 7 STARS.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ ACTING (The acting was excellent.)
+ STORY (As a prequel it works.)
+ CAST (The cast is perfect for the roles.)
+ SCARY (Spooky world of the Amityville house continues to cause fright.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- CHARACTERS (There is some character issues like why didn't the son at least try to fight the evil inside him, it was his
family and he didn't flinch.)
- SLOW (It took it's time building up to that.)
...AND FINALLY...
- WHERE WAS IT WRITTEN (That it was a prequel, not in the trailer, not in the poster and not in a typeset.)
