THE PLOT:

The Rich family is the wealthiest families in the world and their only son Richie is pampered like nothing you've ever seen.

But the one thing the richest boy in the world can't buy is real friends. Until the day his parents disappear thanks to the efforts of Lawrence Van Dough who wants to steal the family fortune for his own.

With his new friends Richie, Professor Keenbean and Cadbury must run the many companies while searching for his parents.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

The comic is older then I am, but it still stands the test of time. The richest boy in the world facing off against villainous foes that would take that wealth away is a good one. The cartoon from my childhood still ranks one of my favorites. This live action adaptation is pretty good, but far from perfect. There is still about three complaints I have. One, Mike McShane as Keenbean, Mike is a great actor and a very funny improver. But he's not right for Keenbean. He's too large. Two, Dollar is a rare species of dog, one of a kind as far as I know, the Dollarmation. As in Dalmatian with dollar shaped spots. The dog they got was too small and didn't do all those crazy things to become a hero like in the cartoon. Lastly, no Irona the robot maid. She may be just a robot maid, but she is just as important to the cast as Richie and Keenbean. Macaulay Culkin does a great job as Richie, even though I would have liked to seen his famous sweater with the R on it. But that's minor, I give it 8 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree with Zedd on this one, in fact those little changes ticked me off just the slightest. After all, the made a CGI bee but they couldn't make Dollar the right size. Mike I can understand why they picked him. But I think they could have done better as a whole. 7 STARS.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ STORY (The story is really cool.)
+ CLOSE (Very close to the comic book.)
+ CAST (The cast does a great job, even if all of them weren't right for the character.)
+ EFFECTS (The effects are just major cool.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- MIKE McSHANE (He really wasn't physically right for Keenbean.)
- DOLLAR (The dollarmation is a large dog. Not a lap dog.)
- NO SWEATER (Zedd would liked to have seen the R sweater.)

...AND FINALLY...

- FAN BASED (If you aren't a fan of the original comic book or the cartoon show, then this isn't the movie for you.)
