Dr. Peter Jensen leads his archeology class on a field trip to a dig in the woods. Looking for an ancient indean cave with
legends of jewels. What the students don't know is this field trip is not sanctioned by the College. It's Dr. Jackson's
own quest to find his retirement fund and when the students get wise, he and his goon take them hostage.
To make matters worse, an experimental alien reject is after them for taking in essence is his food. But Dr. Jension
refuses to give up the treasure which may result in the deaths of the entire class.
This movie has many flaws, but compared to ALIEN 3000 or UNSEEN EVIL 2 it's bloody Oscar material. The acting seemed force,
despite the fact of Tim Thomerson of DOLLMAN fame. But there isn't all bad news, the creature design and the CGI effects are
very well done for a low budget movie, if you ask me RICHARD HATCH is a major sell out, first this then the remake of BATTLESTAR
GALACTICA which true fans will say is Galactica in name alone. But that's a different story. He just can't do the villain
role. Richard's villain is forced and labored. There are a few things other the creature effects. An alien experiment dumped
on the Earth in a cave makes sense and is pretty cool. But I give it...7 STARS.
I agree with what Zedd wrote, but I really don't agree with his score. All the minuses he pointed out in the movie in this
feature way out ways the positive spots and don't get me started on Richard Hatch, you can read that when we review Basterized
Galactica. But as for UNSEEN EVIL, I give it 5 STARS and only 5 STARS.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (The creature effects are pretty good.)
+ GORE EFFECTS (The gore effects are pretty good.)
+ TIM THOMERSON (Tim Thomerson helps save this movie.)
+ STORY (The story works.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- ACTING (Most of the acting seemed labored and wooden.)
- CHARACTERS (Most of the characters is still and unlikable.)
...AND FINALLY TWO WORDS...
- RICARD HATCH (Worst movie villian EVER!)
