THE PLOT:
Anna works in a area of the library where they keep the original manuscripts in the actual handing writing of the creators.
She leaves a noted scientist named Doctor Winston Berber alone with the original manuscript of Frankenstein which he steals
and replaces with a blank forgery. Now Anna is in a spot, sooner or later they will find out it's gone and if she goes to
the Police they will know it's gone. Either way, she'd loose her job. So she does the only thing she can, go to the only
Private Investigator she can afford.
David Raleigh, Private Investigator/Video Rental Magager. But Berber has bigger plans for the stolen manuscripts. For
after words he steals Dracula, for his new invention. A machine that is a combination science and sorcery. To bring the
litterary characters to monstreous life. But without the right sacrifice, the monsters come out a mere fraction of their
former glory, around three feet tall.
As Anna and David try to get the manuscripts back, Berber makes plan for a better sacreifice that will restory the fictious
fiends back to they're glorious size and under his control and he will rule the world. Unless somebody stops him.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
The idea of bringing to life creatures of literature into a world where they are mere stories works, also making them a mere
fraction of the original height also works. I wish we saw more of them in the movie, that it wasn't close to forty five minutes
into the story before they make an appearence. The acting was quite good, but it felt like it was rushed. You know what
I mean, thrown together quickly. The cast does a great job and Ronda Griffin, do more movies, we miss you. But still another
classic from FULL MOON. God rest the company's soul. I recommed this movie for any fans of the characters in this movie,
DRACULA, THE WEREWOLF, THE MUMMY and of course FRANKENSTEIN. I give it 8 STARS.
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd on this. I liked the characters, the unique twist on these classic monsters. I also agree that it seems
a bit slapped together, a tad glued together in places. I also agree that it would have been nice to see more of the micro-monsters.
So, given that I give the movie 7 STARS.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (Classic and cool designs always work.)
+ STORY (Most unique twist in a horror flick.)
+ CHARACTERS (All the characters were unique and cool.)
+ CAST (The cast does a great job consider the time constrants.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- NEEDED MORE (We both wish that they should more of the mini-monsters.)
- SLAPPED TOGETHER (The whole feeling of the film felt rushed.)
...AND FINALLY...
- FAN BASED (If you aren't into FRANKENSTEIN, DRACULA, THE WEREWOLF and or THE MUMMY then this isn't for you.)
