THE PLOT:
It was a normal day in a normal town. Two normal kids Sally and Conrad, which have normal problems. Conrad's problem is
six foot tall and dating their Mom, a problem named Quinn.
Mom's boss is throwing a party at her house and Mr. Humberfloob is anal rententive about clean. Bad timing for Sally
and Conrad to meet a six foot talking cat. The Cat In The Hat wants to show them the true meaning of fun on a cold rainy
day. But when the crate to Cat's world gets open it's up to the three of them to find the lock before the house becomes the
Mother of all messes.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
The movie was very, very funny. Mike Myers did a great job as the Cat in the Hat. I think I could have done without Quinn,
but I guess a feature length movie needed a villian. I love the DVD, the DVD encludes Dakota Fanning and Spencer Breslin
playing Sally and Conrad. They prompt you into picking things. I love that, I wish more big DVDs was like that. Anyway,
Quinn and Humberfloob could have lived without, but still wouldn't have missed THE CAT IN THE HAT for all the world. I give
it...9 STARS
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd, Dakota and Spencer did a great job. In fact, all the kids that played Thing 1 and Thing 2 were great.
Mike Myers was great. Joan's boss was my only real complaint. I don't care what town you, you can't fire someone for being
somewhat messy. That kind of thing you can sue over and I would sue his anal retentive butt back to the stone age. Anyway,
just a quick wanring to parents, this is rated PG and some of the humor small kids will not understand. I give it...9 STARS
as well.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ PLOT (Working this cool plot from a children's book was brillant)
+ CAST (The cast was just great)
+ ACTING (Why aren't kids movie eligible for Oscars?)
+ EFFECTS (The effects were perfect)
+ MAKE UP EFFECTS (The Cat and Thing Effects were great)
+ DVD (Having Sally and Conrad host the DVD and prompt you to pick cool bonus features is just a unique and cool idea)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- HUMBERFLOOB(Mister Humberfloob was a tad annoying with his clean kick)

- ADULT HUMOR (Some of the humor may not be for suitiable for really young kids, even though it's only PG)
